Next Generation Citizens Curriculum
Citizenship education through fun and challenging discussions, games, project based learning, and simulations!
Every term is structured around three concentric focus frames — Me, My Community and My World — ensuring that abstract civic concepts are always rooted in personal experience before pupils are asked to engage with them at scale.
Democracy begins with identity and fairness, not with parliament. Environment begins with caring for a pet, not with climate data. Media begins with the difference between a story and a fact, not with algorithms.
Tomorrow's Citizens Curriculum runs across Years 1 to 6, covering three themes each year: Democracy, Environment, and Media. Financial literacy is explored throughout all of these. Each terms includes Project Based Learning, oracy exercises, games and simulations.
The syllabus supports civic knowledge and skill development keeping children's need to play at the centre of learning. The curriculum will be fully aligned with the DfE's Fundamental British Values framework and designed for first teaching in 2028, when citizenship becomes statutory in primary schools for the first time.
